Schwarzkoff has a cool reward for students
Student winner with slurpeeSome Schwarzkoff Elementary students are getting a pretty cool reward for their positive behavior.

The school is paying a special visit to the home of students to give them a “Ding Dong Slurpee Surprise” as part of a school-wide positive behavior program.

As part of its two-year old Positive Behavior Intervention Support Program (PBIS), teachers are rewarding students who are demonstrating their PR.I.DE. Positive Respect, Integrity, and Dedicated Effort.

“Our is to create a positive culture for students by teaching expectations,” said principal Amber Fante.
Students who exhibit the characteristics embed in PR.I.D.E. - Positive Respect, Integrity, and Dedicated Effort.

Teachers create tickets for students making positive choices that go into a building raffle, and the lucky winner gets a special delivery of a slurpee to recognize their hard work.

Fante said the idea behind the special incentive is to continue rewarding good behavior, even in remote settings.

“We are working hard to give them a sense of normalcy about school,” she said.
